Hey! Look what I MADE!!

For Christmas I was given an AWESOME present! This sewing machine!
Well, that is as far as it went! I didn't have a place to set it up at the time, so it stayed in the box (safest place for it!) Then we moved and the machine came OUT of the BOX!! And it sat prettily on my shelf for almost 6 months! Until NOW!! About a month ago I finally bought some thread for it... then that sat in a box. Today I went to Walmart to get some pins (they were kind of an important part of me trying to sew). While I was in the fabric section I discovered the $1.50/yd shelf and found this really cute black and white checked fabric.
As soon as the kids were down for a nap I got started! I pulled down the machine, got my measuring stick, fabric, scissors, and pins! (I had actually threaded the machine a few days ago). I measured the window and fabric, cut and began sewing!
I had SO MUCH FUN! And the most amazing part is... I haven't sewn since high school (and I only sewed maybe 3 things then) and I just made it up as I went!
Not to boast or anything, but I am pretty proud of myself!! They are not perfect and I might fix a few things in the weeks to come..l but I DID THIS!
My kitchen now has a cute little valence curtain!

This was last week. He skipped his nap, then around 5:30 had a snack, climbed on the table, and fell asleep (with the half eaten roll still in his hand)!

Me and my Daddy

Timothy loves his daddy! They have so much fun together! Everyday, about 5-10 times a day, Timothy asks about his daddy, tells about how his daddy is at work, how his daddy drives his truck with his keys, how his daddy is going to mow the lawn when he gets home and countless others.

Here they enjoy a nice bowl of cereal together. YUM!

and yes, these two goofballs are mine! and I love them so!

This is what Timothy waits all day to see! Daddy coming home from work in the truck! (Which I mentioned above is a big topic of conversation for him... daddy's truck with his keys, and the lights, and the wheels... etc)
